Andrew J Clarke is an award winning photographer and Sony Digital Imaging Advocate with a passion for capturing the stunning Australian landscape. Like many others, Andrew's career in photography grew out of a love of exploration and an eagerness to share the beauty of the natural world.
Andrew is fascinated by the relationship between light and time and will spend hours on location waiting for the right moment before releasing the shutter. His patience and eye for composition give his images a unique character, which often takes the form of abstract depictions of otherwise common scenes and landmarks.
Although Andrew's career as a professional photographer is only just beginning, his body of work and collection of fine art prints resembles that of a much more experienced photographer. Andrew was a finalist in the Emerging Photographer of the Year category at the 2018 AIPP Western Australian Professional Photography Awards and is the photography partner of the Western Australian Youth Orchestra.
Andrew prints on museum quality fine art paper mounted on archival, acid-free matboard making his prints exceptionally resistant to fading and discolouration.
Andrew uses the 42 megapixel Sony A7R II camera body for his landscape work. He uses a wide variety of lenses, but the current go to lenses are:
- Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8
- Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM
- Sony 85mm f/1.8
- Sony 70-200 f/4 G
Andrew uses Lee and Gobe filters.
